Tom Forrester Award
The “Tom Forrester Award” was created to honor
the highest scoring “Owner Trained” dog each year. It was
graciously donated in 2008 by Frank Keesling Jr. of
Lovettsville, Virginia in recognition of Tom Forrester – one of
the founding members of the Virginia Border Collie Association,
for his continued service and dedication to the club and his
exemplary ability in the training of Border Collies.
Qualifications for recipients of this award:
Dog must be trained by the owner only.
Dog cannot be pre-trained prior to - if purchased.
Dog cannot be sent away for training.
Owner can take their dog to clinics or they may get assistance
in training their dog.
There is no age limit of the dog.
The score is calculated by averaging the points to trial ratio.
There is no limit to how many times the award can be won by the
same dog or owner.
In the event of the VBCA disbanding – This trophy is to be
relinquished to Tom Forrester or his family.
